We were two businesses, Gardiner Plumbing and Laser Electrical New Plymouth, until Gardiner Plumbing purchased the Laser Electrical New Plymouth business in December 2024. At the same time, Gardiner Plumbing joined the Laser network and rebranded to Laser, so the combined business now trades as Laser Plumbing and Electrical New Plymouth. Both businesses have proudly served the Taranaki region for over 25 years.

We also specialise in AirTech and Devan Secondary Waste Water Systems made in New Zealand. We also service other waste water systems.

They are both efficient, lightweight sewage treatment plants that safely and effectively processes your disposable* household sewage and wastewater. The unit recycles it as clear, odourless, nutrient enriched water to irrigate landscape, shelterbelt, coppice wood lots or existing planted areas. For the environmentally minded this means that the sewage and wastewater is treated on the property where it is produced and then recycled for reuse with little environmental impact on the land.

Gas Fitting

Gas is a fantastic tool for heating and cooking. There are two sources of gas, LPG & Natural Gas both work the same. The only difference is Natural Gas is connected into the gas mains at your gate, LPG is connected to bottles.

We at Laser Plumbing & Electrical New Plymouth treat Gas with respect. We work within the strict guide lines set by Energy Safety NZ and they recommend that gas is checked regularly by an authorised and qualified gas fitter.

Gas fitters are specialists and in high demand especially leading up to the winter periods. We do advise to ring prior to the winter so we can make sure your heaters are working efficiently before it gets too cold and our specialist can service and install.

Solar Hot Water Heating – Swimming Pools

The problem is familiar. An outdoor swimming pool that is not heated is only really comfortably warm for short period at the height of summer – very little when you think of all the investment and maintenance you put into it.

An indoor swimming pool has to be heated all the year round, even in the middle of summer. Heating a swimming pool using conventional means of energy can be a costly business, and is also a load on the environment. But the heating of swimming pools is an ideal application for solar energy.
